"This is my first time ever in the IROC cars and I'm always telling people how much fun the Truck series is, but this kind of tops it," said Musgrave. "You can put these cars anywhere on the race track and they feel good. It's too much fun out there, I've never driven anything so much fun in all my life." With that quote from Ted, you know darn well he is having the time of his life racing the IROC series. Ted would start the 40 lap race from the 4th row. This would be the 1st of four races to determine the IROC champion for 2006. Top prize...$1,000,000.oo! Ted would start his way to the front early and by lap 2 he was in 5th. Ryan Newman would squeeze Ted to the middle soon after and Ted would fall back through the middle lane of three wide racing. Ted would then find Matt Kenseth and follow him back to the front until they were 2nd and 3rd respectively. Ted would then try to make a move on the outside for another position and soon find his way to the back as no one wants to help him. Lap 10 and Mark Martins night is through. He hits the wall after Hornish and Newman start the wreck. Ted would restart in 5th and with a great restart he worked his way to 2nd just behind Kenseth. A mandatory caution would come on lap 25 and by then Ted got himself shuffled back to 10th. Everyone would have to come in and get fresh tires. The race would restart and Ted would find his way to 8th with just 12 laps to go. But then a big wreck occours just in front of Ted. Ted would make his way past an airborne car and then a spinning car just to collide with a 3rd. Ted's day would end and he would be credited with a 10th place finish. Kenseth would win the race and Ted would go get himself ready for the truck race which was to follow. |
