The race would start and would you believe Caution #1 came out just 4 laps in? Seems like a trend that has to be dealt with. This caution involved #46 Dennis Setzer and #33 Bobby East. Setzer reports that he flat spotted his tires and would pit for new ones. Nascar would give Dennis another set of tires. Not sure about the rule but I have heard of it being done.
Restart on lap 7 and Ted would be in 5th spot. Ted would hold his position until Caution #2 on lap 15. This one as #07 Jose Luis Rameriz spins on the track. Once again most stay out.
Restart on lap 19 and Ted is still in 5th. He would stay there once again until Caution #3 on lap 41. This time #4 Erin Crocker gets pinched low by #13 Chad Chaffin and they wreck. Ted would pit this time for tires-fuel-adjustments.
Restart on lap 47 and Ted would be in 6th. After some green flag laps we hear that Ted didn't like the handling at the beginning of the race but the adjustments they made in the pits helped. By lap 65 Ted made it up to the 4th spot. The race would stay green and by lap 85 Ted gets around #15 Kyle Busch for 3rd spot. Ted would drop back a spot to 4th as his tires started to go away and then Caution #4 with 43 laps to go comes out. #2 Jimmy Spencer hit the wall with a flat front tire.
Ted would pit for the final time and restart the race 4th with 37 laps to go. Just 3 laps later #10 Terry Cook spins and brings out Caution #5. The race would restart now with 30 to go and Ted still in 4th.
Caution #6 comes out just one lap later as now #77 Brendan Gaughan spins on the track. Restart with 25 to go and Ted is still in 4th. Two laps after the restart #14 Rick Crawford passes Ted. Ted is now 5th. Then with 21 laps to go a Red Flag comes out for Caution #7. #33 Bobby East and #59 Robert Pressley wreck. The race would be stopped for 15 min.
The final restart would be with 16 laps to go. The leaders are very aggressive at this point with #6 Ron Hornaday jr. and Kyle Busch of course contributing to the mayhem. With just 7 laps to go Dennis Setzer gets around Ted to grap the 5th spot.
The race would end that way with Setzer in 5th and Ted in 6th. Ted would lose 5 points on that final pass. However Ted still holds the points lead over Dennis by 58 with just one race left.
Breaking news a Toyota won the race.
Only one race left!
A 10th place finish next week wins the Championship.
On to Homestead-Miami Speedway where Ted has finishes of, 13th-2nd-2nd and a Win. That being his first Truck Series win! Keep up the great work Mopar crew! One race left! Let's win this Championship in style with a season ending win! Or a 10th place finish would be ok by me!
