  • Team ASE heads back to Texas for the 2nd time this year.
  • Ted drove to a 9th place finish in the first race.
  • Ted has 8 top-10 finishes at this track out of 13 total races.
  • In the first practice Ted was 9th quick.
  • Then in final practice he was 10th quick.
  • He would then go on to qualify 3rd for the race!
  • Ted says the truck drove well in qualifying and he looks forward to the race tonight.
  • Green Flag at 9:20!
  • Ted is 2nd after lap 1.
  • Wreck on lap 2 #16 Scott - #09 Clanton for Caution #1.
  • Restart on lap 8 and Ted is 3rd.
  • Lap 9 Ted passes Kyle Busch to get back to 2nd.
  • Caution #2 as #47 Smith spins down the frontstretch.
  • Restart on lap 14 and Ted is 2nd.
  • Ted takes the lead in turn 3!
  • Ted is just taking off on the field!
  • Todd Bodine is overheating.
  • With Todd's issues we see Todd and not Ted.
  • We see Ted lapping a truck on the way to commercial.
  • Back from commercial and #5 Skinner in about 5 truck lengths behind Ted.
  • Todd pits under green.
  • Busch passes Skinner for 2nd and is about 5 truck lengths behind Ted.
  • Busch passes Ted and goes sideways doing it.
  • I guess it was THAT important to get by Ted and if he wrecked doing it, oh well.
  • Caution #3 as #00 Lally spins.
  • Ted pits for 4 tires and fuel and comes 4th out of the pits.
  • Restart on lap 44 and Ted is 4th.
  • Lap 45 and Ted is 3rd.
  • Right now 25 trucks on the lead lap.
  • Lap 55 of 147 and Ted is still 3rd.
  • Lap 65 and still in 3rd.
  • Caution #4 as #76 Sellers hit the wall.
  • Under Caution Busch blows an engine and Kvapil pits for an engine problem.
  • Ted may be the leader when we restart.
  • Restart on lap 74 and Ted is the leader with Skinner right behind.
  • Lap 77 and Ted falls to 3rd.
  • Ted and Skinner were battling side by side and a mess of trucks caught them.
  • Lap 80 and Ted is now 4th and the trucks have spaced out.
  • Lap 84 and Sprague passes Ted for 4th.
  • Ted continues to drop back a bit to 6th.
  • Lap 89 and Ted is still 6th.
  • Lap 97 and Ted is 6th and 11 seconds back of the leader.
  • 49 to go and Ted drops to 7th.
  • Ted pits with 41 to go.
  • Ted got 4 tires, fuel and an adjustment.
  • 37 to go and Ted is 2 laps down but right behind the leader.
  • 30 to go and Ted is now one lap down in 17th.
  • There are a bunch of trucks that still have to pit including the leader.
  • 18 to go and Ted is 11th.
  • 16 to go and Ted is 9th as the trucks ahead start pitting.
  • 10 to go and Ted is 7th and on the lead lap again.
  • Caution # 5 and Kvapil blows a tire and goes flying down pit road.
  • Ted is now 6th.
  • Some pit and Ted is now 5th.
  • Single file restart with 4 to go.
  • Caution #4 as trucks go 3 wide for the lead.
  • #8 McCumbee passes both Skinner and Hornaday, then Hornaday gets loose and takes out Skinner.
  • Ted got through with just a little bit of damage to the left front.
  • The race is red flagged with Ted in 3rd.
  • In the replays we see that Ted just squeeks by the wrecking trucks.
  • The restart will be McCumbee-Sprague-Musgrave-Gaughan-Crawford.
  • Restart with 2 to go.
  • NO WAY!
  • On the restart McCumbee spins his tires and Sprague gets into the back of him and they wreck.
  • Ted trucks on by for the WIN!
  • We'll take it!
  • Great job guys just being up front for the chance to win.
  • Texas finally gave Ted something back for a change.
  • Ted does a burnout and grabs the checkered flag at the same time.
  • It has been 66 races since his last win.
  • Ted said he knew what was ahead of him and just tried to keep his nose clean on the restart.
  • Ted also said he had to do the polish victory lap for his late friend Alan Kulwicki.
  • When asked about next year, Ted said ASE will be with him next year and that it was great to get them a win before the year was up and hopes to get them some more.
  • We heard nothing else of the upcoming deal for next year.
  • Ted is still 7th in points and now -774 back.
  • Wow! What a night! What a finish!
  • Ted finally got some good luck at Texas!
  • On to Phoenix for the next race and perhaps some junkyard shopping with his brother Tom!
