- This race will be CTS's 300th race.
- Ted won the 200th race at Memphis in 2003.
- Ted has won before at Dover so this could be the week!
- When first practice was over Ted was 19th quick.
- After the final practice Ted was 23rd quick despite finding more speed.
- However, Ted would wreck his primary truck in the final practice.
- Turns out a shock broke entering turn one and it shot the truck into the wall.
- Team ASE was able to get the backup truck out in time for qualifying.
- Ted would qualify the backup truck 30th for the race.
- This backup truck is meant for next weeks race at Texas.
- It's going to be tough but this should be a fast enough truck to do it.
- I got to work during the race so no live update this week.
- On to the race...
- Start of the race and WOW!
- Wreck on the backstretch on the 1st lap, Many trucks involved.
- Skinner got loose off the corner and hit Bowyer.
- Schraeder, Gaughan, Lester, Starr, Sprague and Darnell to name a few.
- Restart lap 11 and Ted is 21st.
- Caution #2 as #50 wrecks on the frontstretch.
- Restart on lap 24 and Ted is 25th. He must have pitted.
- A few laps later and he is 22nd.
- Caution #3 as the #7 gets sideways in a turn. I can't believe there is a caution for that!
- Ted pits along with a bunch of other trucks.
- All the #7 did was get sideways in the turn and there was 7 caution laps!
- I will never understand why some cautions are called and some are not.
- Ted restarts in 20th.
- Lap 53 and Ted is 19th.
- Lap 63 and Ted goes a lap down!
- Lap 72 and still 19th and 2nd truck a lap down.
- Lap 76 and Ted is now 18th, not sure if he's the lucky dog.
- Lap 83 and Ted is still 18th and the 5th truck a lap down.
- Mark Martin has hood damage and appears to have a hood pin not in because of it and NO black flag.
- Lap 93 and Ted is 17th.
- Lap 95 and Ted now goes another lap down!
- We see him going very high in the corners.
- Lap 98 and Ted is 18th.
- 94 to go and and Ted is 17th.
- 88 to go and still 17th and now only one lap down.
- 84 to go and now 18th and again 2 laps down.
- Ted pits with 82 to go and gets 4 tires and fuel and adjustments.
- He should be able to go the rest of the way.
- We hear the truck would not turn and he wore the tires out.
- Caution #4 as the #7 spins again and #14 wrecks avoiding him.
- Leaders pit for the last time.
- Restart with 66 to go and Ted is 22nd?
- 59 to go and Ted is 21st and first truck 4 laps down.
- 52 to go and Ted is now 22nd and 4th truck four laps down.
- 49 to go and he's 21st.
- 36 to go and Ted is 20th and now 5 laps down.
- 28 to go and Ted is 19th.
- 23 to go and Ted is 21st and 7 laps down.
- 13 to go and Ted is 20th.
- Ted finishes 20th on the day.
- What a tough day for Team ASE.
- Ted is still 4th in points but now -241 points back.
- It's not easy pulling out a backup truck meant for another track and run it with no practice laps.
- Next week the truck will be where it belongs and let's hope for a much better result.
- Hornaday wins for the 31st time.
