Kansas would be the 12th race of the season pretty much making it the halfway race of a 25 race season. Ted would be 12th quick in the 1st practice and not really making or losing ground speed wise in the final practice being 13th quick. Ted did find a bit more for his qualifying run and would start 9th for the race.

Ted would gain a few spots at the start of the race but that would soon turn out to be not the direction he would go for most of the race. It appeared to be a loose condition that would hinder not only Ted but most of the field.

Not far from being lapped a beneficial caution helps out Ted on lap 30. He would pit for gas and some help from his crew. Ted would restart 29th and move up through the field to 21st before another caution would fly. Ted would again pit for help.

On the next restart Ted would make his way up to 18th. Ted would find a home in the 18th-21st area for awhile as Tracy Hines forgets how to drive causing 2 of his now 3 cautions. Ted is now a lap down and just misses the lucky dog. Before the next caution Ted would make his way to the lucky dog spot and get the prize when Steve Park wrecks.

Ted would come in for one last pit stop. He would restart in 19th place with 25 laps to go. With 20 to go Ted is now in 16th place. Sprague would bring out a caution and the race would restart with 14 to go and Ted in 14th. It didn't take long to bring out the next caution which would bring out the red flag as Kelly Sutton flips over trying to avoid a wreck.

The race would again restart with 10 to go. With 6 to go Ted is in 11th. Then with 3 to go caution number 9 comes out as Ted and Mr. Crafton touch each other. There would be a green-white-checkered and Ted would somehow loose a couple spots and finish 14th.

It was a not so good day for the Mopar team. But with all the cautions it could of been worse especially the last with Crafton.

On to Kentucky where Ted has finishes of 2nd-7th-9th-24th(crash). It is a similar track to Kansas. Let's hope a lot was learned and Kentucky will bring a much more favorable result to the Mopar team.
