Built Ford Tough 225
Kentucky Speedway
- Ted is back on the track this week!
- A track where Ted has some good finishes of 2nd,5th,6th,7th,9th and 24th(wreck).
- Ted would unload fast and stay fast.
- Ted would be 2nd quick in the first practice.
- Then he would be 1st quick in the final practice.
- He would then go on to qualify in the 8th spot for the race.
- After practice Ted talked about the team sitting down after Milwaukee and trying to figure out how to turn the trucks back into winning trucks from just a top-5 truck.
- They went in an old school direction and set up the truck at Memphis just like Ted drove a few years back with such success. Brad and Team ASE did very well.
- Ted brought the same type of setup to Kentucky and with two differant drivers and two differant trucks it looks to be working so far.
- On to the race......
- On the start the pole sitter #22 Mathews gets a terrible start and falls way back.
- Ted makes it to 6th at this point.
- Lap 9 and Ted is 5th while #5 Skinner is out front.

- 45 laps in and Ted is still 2nd and 3.7 seconds back.
- Caution #2 for a two truck wreck (#50 Sheppard and #59 Cook.)
- All pit and Ted comes out of the pits 6th.
- In the pits we see that Ted's right front tire had a chunk missing on the inside.
- A good break for Team ASE!
- Restart on lap 59 and Ted is 6th.
- Ted is in some heavy traffic on the restart.
- Caution #3 as #75 spins into the infield a few laps after the green.
- Restart lap 63 and Ted is still 6th.
- Caution #4 as #21 Wood spins on the track a few laps after the green again.

- 47 to go and Ted is 7th.
- 46 to go and Ted is 6th.
- 43 to go and Ted is 5th.
- 40 to go and Ted is 4th.
- It took Ted some time to pass the lap down trucks and get by some 3 wide racing.
- 35 to go and #77 Gaughan blows a tire and Ted gets 3rd for it.
- 30 to go and Ted is still 3rd.
- 20 to go and Ted is still 3rd and on #6 Kvapil's bumper for 2nd.

- 5 to go and Ted is still 3rd right behind Travis.
- At the checkered flag Ted finishes 3rd.
- Skinner wins for the 4th time this year.
- Great day for Team ASE!
- Ted used up his stuff trying to get through lap traffic while the leaders took off.
- The mix of pit stratagies put Ted back just a bit too far on the last restart.
- After the race Ted said...It was a great run for the team and he was just a bit too far back on the restart to make it a Toyota 1-2 finish with skinner. He also talked about the next race at ORP and said with a grin that... "It's like Bristol where you beat and bang...Oh yeah I'm still on probation...but I'll beat and bang anyway."
- On a side note David Green mentioned after the race that it was a great feeling to race with Ted Musgrave and Skinner and all those guys. I remember the last time he talked about Ted and it wasn't so favorable. Nice to know we can ALL get along.
- Ted is now 8th in points and -637 back of Skinner.
- On to ORP in 2 weeks.
