Race week #14 and Ted and the crew were off to Memphis,TN. It would be another night race and another very very hot day for all involved. Ted would be 10th quick in the first practice and then go on to be 1st quick in the final practice! From there Ted went on to qualify 7th for the race.

The race would start and Ted would drop back a few spots and after the 1st of many cautions on lap 8, this one for Brendan Gaughn spinning around, Ted would restart in 9th place on lap 13.

The 2nd caution came out on lap 33, this time for Johnny Benson blowing a front right tire and Ted would pit. He would get four tires and adjustments. Bobby Hamilton would pit as well to get some tape removed for a over heating problem. The race would resume on lap 37 with Ted now in 23rd.

The adjustments seemed to help Ted and he would start climbing through the field. Caution 3 is for Debra Renshaw spinning. Caution 4 is for a wreck involving a few trucks. At this time most of the field would pit. Ted would stay out and would restart the race 9th on lap 57.

Three laps later and Ted is in 7th. Three more laps later caution 5 comes for a spin by #47 Aric Almirola. Ted would continue to stay on the track and restart in 4th on lap 75. Ted would try for 3rd around Dennis Setzer but would not be able to make the pass. He would fall back to 7th with 91 laps to go.

With 87 laps to go, and Dennis Setzer along with a few others on the verge of having to make a green flag pit stop for fuel and perhaps having to go down 2 laps, Kelly Sutton spins in turn 4. Well she tried to spin her Chevy Silverado in turn 2 but didn't quite do it. She then accomplished her goal of spinning her Chevy Silverado on lap 4. Dennis Setzer would now pit his Chevy Silverado for tires and fuel, thus staying on the lead lap. Ted would pit as well and return 10th.

Right away on the restart something is wrong with Ted. He quickly drops back and would soon bring out the 7th caution for a blown right front tire. We would later find out that the front tires were switched on the last pit stop which caused the tire to blow. There would be a lot of damage and Ted would pit for repairs and come out in 30th but still on the lead lap.

Caution #8 is for a spin by Terry Cook with 60 to go. Ted is now 25th.

Caution #9 is for Timothy Peters spin with 51 to go. Ted is now 22nd.

Caution #10 is for Robert Huffman's crash with 47 to go. Ted is 20th.

Caution #11 happens on the restart with 39 to go. David Reutiman misses a shift and causes a chain reaction and Ted hits #47 and sends him into Mike skinner. This caution would bring out a Red Flag. The safety crew would be allowed by NASCAR to bring the drivers water and ice. The race would restart on lap 35 with Ted in 15th.

Caution #12 Ricky Craven blows a tire and hits the wall with 28 to go.

The race would restart with 24 laps to go. With 21 to go Ted is seen turning into the garage! It would be a failed motor caused by a leak in the radiator that was damaged on the resart with 39 to go. Ted would end up 26th.

The race would finish with 13 cautions.
There would be another green-white-checkered.
Brandon Whitt would capture his first win.
Whitt would also get $18,000 for winning from the pole.
Toyotas would end up 1-2.
Ted would lose 75 points to Setzer.

On to IRP in two weeks for another race under the lights. Ted has finshed 25th-6th-16th and 23rd there. He has qualified in the top 10 all 4 times. Go Ted!!
