Bristol Motor Speedway was the site of the 17th race of the 25 race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. Ted would be 27th quick in the 1st practice. He would then be 8th quick in the final practice. Ted would then qualify the Mopar Dodge 22nd for the start of the race. Big surprise as there were 4 Toyotas in the top 5 for qualifying. Stay tuned to see how they faired in the race.

The race would start double file and Ted would quickly move up from 22nd to 19th by the time Caution #1 comes out on lap 9. The #07 Chris Wimmer wrecks all by himself.

The race would restart on lap 14 and before Caution #2 on lap 19 Ted would again move up 3 spots and find himself 16th. The #18 Chase Montgomery and #22 Bill Lester wreck and #77 Brendan Gaughan's day is done as he gets caught up in the aftermath.

The race would restart on lap 26 with Ted right behind the #2 Dodge of Jimmy Spencer. Ted would gain 2 more spots by the time Caution #3 flies on lap 41. Ted is now in 14th place. The caution was for the #08 Bill Manfull, who ended up spinning right in front of Ted.

The resart would be on lap 47. It would take Ted 9 laps to move up to the 13th position. He would stay there until Caution #4 comes out as #99 Ricky Craven spins the #8 Debra Renshaw. At this time most of the leaders pit. Ted would as well. We would hear later that Ted told his crew that he was a touch loose but really liked the truck otherwise. The Mopar crew pulled off a great pit stop and Ted would come out in 8th!

The race would resume just 8 more laps before Caution #5 comes out on lap 83 for a wreck involving #99 Craven-#04 Hamilton-#14 Crawford. This would prove to be the end of Hamilton's day.

Restart on lap 88 and we see a lot of bumping and banging through the field. The race would stay green for quite awhile. Ted would see a mirror full of #15 Kyle Busch for a lot of it.

100 to go Ted is in 8th.
73 to go Ted is in 7th.
32 to go Ted is in 6th.

With 12 to go in the race #46 Dennis Setzer hits the wall and once again causes his own caution. This one being Caution#6 on the day.

The race would restart with 5 laps to go. Mike Skinner would hold on to win the race. Ted would finish 6th. Setzer would end up in 16th place. Jimmy Spencer would finish in 7th.

Overall a good day for the Ultra Motorsports teams.
Ted would gain 45 points on Setzer.
Ted is now -143 points back of Setzer and still 2nd in the points.
The Toyota trucks would end up occupying 4 of the top 5 finishes.
Time to put an anchor on them.
If they are good drivers they will still win like Ted did after all they did to the Dodges in 2001.

On to Richmond September 8th! Another night race under the lights. Ted has finishes of 1st - 3rd - 4th - 7th. Keep up the great team effort Mopar crew! It aint over till the banquet!
