  • On to Nashville for another night race.
  • Ted has done very well at Nashville with finishes of ( 2nd-3rd-2nd-3rd-2nd-4th-8th ).
  • This year he and his Team ASE/Harris Trucking crew are looking for more of the same.
  • In the first practice they were 5th quick with a speed of 157.065 mph.
  • Then in the final practice they were 8th quick with a speed of 158.533 mph.
  • They would then go on to qualify for the race 13th with a speed of 156.517 mph.
  • I will update live during the commercials this week for those without SPEEDtv.

  • Lap 14 and Ted is up to 17th.
  • Lap 17 and Ted is back to 19th and stuck behind some side by side racing.
  • It appears that Ted needs an adjustment to help him finish of the pass.
  • #30 Bodine had the pole and has stayed there.
  • Lap 25 and Ted is back to 17th.
  • Caution #2 on lap 37 for debris and Ted is 16th.
  • Ted does pit and gets 4 tries and fuel and probably an adjustment.
  • Restart on lap 42 and Ted is back to his starting spot in 13th.
  • Caution #3 for a wreck involving the #21 Wood and #09 Townley on lap 44.

  • Lap 59 and Ted passes #7 Bell for 10th.
  • Bodine still out front in the clean air.
  • Caution #4 and Ted is the reason.
  • Ted's front left tire goes flat and he spins on the frontstretch.
  • He did not hit anything and ended up in the grass.
  • Restart on lap 69 and Ted is now 22nd of 27 trucks on the lead lap.
  • There are only 28 trucks on the track right now.
  • Lap 72 and Ted is now 19th.
  • Caution #5 as 4 wide racing turned bad a few laps after the restart.
  • The #08 White seemed to be the truck pushing the issue of 4 wide.
  • Restart on lap 79 of 150 and Ted is now 3rd.
  • Ted did not have to pit because he did after the spin only a few laps ago.
  • Lap 87 and Ted is still 3rd.
  • There are now only 26 trucks on the lead lap and only 27 trucks on the track.
  • #4 Compton...#8 McCumbee...#59 Musgrave are the top-3 on lap 100.
  • 50 laps to go and all have to pit one more time.
  • 40 to go and Ted is still looking strong in 3rd.
  • Caution #6 with 35 to go for debris
  • All should pit for the last time.
  • Ted pits and comes out 6th.
  • The speed camera showed the 1st,2nd and 4th place trucks pit...go figure!
  • I think Ted took 2 tires and fuel but not sure.
  • I know some took 2 tires and/or just fuel only ahead of him.
  • Restart with 32 to go and Ted is 6th.
  • 30 to go and Ted is 5th and behind ...you guessed it...some side by side racing again.
  • #23 Benson and #30 Bodine were side by side and holding Ted up.
  • Caution #7 as Ted was going to complete the pass on Benson but didn't.
  • #81 Allen wrecked.
  • Restart with 23 to go and Ted is 5th.
  • Lap 20 and Ted is back to 8th after #11 Starr gets loose under Ted.
  • Ted checked up and 2 trucks got by him.
  • 12 to go and still 8th.
  • 5 to go and Ted is still 8th.
  • 3 laps to go and #23 Benson takes the lead from #99 Darnell.
  • Checkered flag and Ted finishes 8th.
  • A very good finish that could of been a sure top-5.
  • It seemed like everyone had a hard time passing.
  • Benson wins the race and it was his 3rd in a row.
  • Nashville once again proved to be a great track for Ted.
  • A few more races like this would be great.
  • Great work Ted and the Team ASE/Harris Trucking crew.
  • Ted gets interviewed at the end of the telecast and says he got caught up with an incident with the #11 and he dropped back and it cost him a shot at a top 5. He also thanked his crew.
  • It was nice to see Ted smiling at the end of a race again.

  • On to Bristol in 2 weeks.
  • That should be a wreck fest.

Quote from Ted after the race:

"This was a good run for us tonight, but I think we could have been a little better. It was just so hard to pass out there tonight and the dirty air around these trucks just made track position so crucial -- and it didn't seem like you could make progress in the high groove. Early in the race our No. 59 Team ASE/Harris Trucking Toyota just didn't seem to have enough grip. It just felt like the truck wasn't down into the track. That lack of grip jumped up and got me there when I spun off turn four early -- I was passing up underneath another truck and not having enough grip made it tough for me to keep the truck down there and it just came around on me. We were able to get to pit lane without any damage and get four fresh tires and when another quick caution came out we were able to stay out and gain that very valuable track position. That kept us up there in the top-10 for the rest of the night. We had some good runs there late but got shuffled with some lap traffic and were not able to gain the spots that maybe we could have. In all, a good rebound race for this team and we really needed a solid run like this tonight with the struggles we’ve had lately. Hopefully, this can get us some positive momentum going and we can turn our season around." Note: no space for the text!
