Photo taken in 1958 at Wilmot Speedway. Elmer won both a Champioship and a Most Popular Driver award there.

Elmer was known to be a clean driver and really liked by his fellow drivers.

This photo is of Elmers' USAC car from the 60's. It was a light blue Ford Galaxy.

This photo was taken at Langhorne Speedway in 1960. Elmer was crossing the finish line for the win.

This photo was taken at Illiana Speedway in 1963. Elmer had won a 100 lap USAC race.

Elmer and Ted at Wauckegan Speedway in 1974.

Waukegan is where Ted started his racing career driving a 69 Ford Torino Fastback that we see in the background. "It was a great car for beginning," Ted said,"You could crash it at 100 mph and ALL you had to do was straighten out the bumper."

Elmer was the Crew Chief for his son Tom's Outlaw Sprint Car.

Some Career stats for Elmer:

-A regular in the USAC. (Which traveled the country.) -Won the 1st annual Ed Steinbock Memorial Race in 1964. -Finished 3rd in the USAC CHampionship in 1961. -Finished in the Top-5 in points many times. -Won races throughout the country in USAC and ARCA events. -Hired by Ford to drive a factory sponsored Mercury in 1963.
