Waukegan is where Ted started his racing career driving
a 69 Ford Torino Fastback that we see in the background.
"It was a great car for beginning," Ted said,"You could crash it at 100 mph
and ALL you had to do was straighten out the bumper."

Some Career stats for Elmer:
-A regular in the USAC. (Which traveled the country.)
-Won the 1st annual Ed Steinbock Memorial Race in 1964.
-Finished 3rd in the USAC CHampionship in 1961.
-Finished in the Top-5 in points many times.
-Won races throughout the country in USAC and ARCA events.
-Hired by Ford to drive a factory sponsored Mercury in 1963.
